Since 1981 the Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House (AHHH) has quietly been serving a special group of individuals. The Hospitality House has strived to provide a “home away from home” to outpatients and caregivers of patients hospitalized in an Atlanta area hospital.
We offer lodging, meals, supportive companionship, and other needs and ask our guests to only make a nominal donation. AHHH is a fully independent non-profit organization.
During our history we have served over 20,000 families and individuals with a wide range of medical conditions, including many types of cardiovascular problems, cancer, tuberculosis, transplants, and other medical afflictions.
The Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House accommodates anyone as long as they have been referred by the hospital chaplain’s or social worker’s office and live 40 miles outside of Atlanta.
We also will accommodate guests who are not immediate family members, often times we accommodate aunts, uncles, cousins, close family friends and even ministers. We work together with the above facilities to provide lodging when they are full. For over 30 years we have made a difference in the lives of individuals who have nowhere else to turn for much needed assistance.
We currently provide service to patients and family members at over 30 area hospitals and medical facilities including Emory Healthcare (Emory Midtown, Emory University Hospital and all campus medical facilities), Marcus Autism Center, the VA Medical Center, Dekalb Medical Center, Winship Cancer Center, Kennestone Hospital, Shepherd Center, Grady Medical Center, Kindred Hospital and the Atlanta Medical Center.
We are honored to play a part in the health and welfare of others. Please continue to support our mission and keep us in your prayers that we can remain a “home away from home” for those in need.
